Beaumont TM recently had the pleasure of supporting and sponsoring the WFA Grand Slam at the Cambridge Cocktail Weekend. Now in its 2nd year following a very successful inaugural event, the Cambridge Cocktail Weekend kicked off on a Friday afternoon with a variety of masterclasses and the first heat of the first WFA Grand Slam and ran right through to late on the Sunday, offering various things to do, see and taste!
Take the best cocktail bars in Cambridge, your favourite drinks brands, great live music and DJs, stunning street food, and (almost) every cocktail under the sun. Mix them all together inside the Cambridge Corn Exchange and serve with a fantastic party atmosphere to create the ultimate bank holiday weekend celebration. The Cambridge Cocktail Weekend is designed to celebrate the great cocktails and bars that Cambridge has to offer, alongside some of global spirits superstars all showcased in one place. Last year the Corn Exchange was packed to the gills with bars and cocktails, and saw over 2,000 through the doors, with plenty of partying and dancing until late to brilliant live bands and DJs.
The World Flair Association Grand Slam at the Cambridge Cocktail Weekend is one of the most important competitions of the year and attracts a lot of skilled flair bartenders from around the world. Beaumont TM are invested in the success and progress of the bartending industry and as a result we are always happy to support the WFA Grand Slam competitions and other cocktail competitions around the country, when we can. After all it provides us with a fantastic opportunity to show off our beautiful barware.
We were delighted to see a number of the worlds greatest flair bartenders turn up to the WFA Grand Slam and throw our bottles, tins, bar spoons and more, all over the place! Some of the throws, catches and trickery these bartenders can perform with our barware is incredible to see.
And of course, no Grand Slam would be complete without a hefty prize: 1st £2200, 2nd £1200, 3rd £700, 4th £500, 5th £300, 6th £100. The top 3 will also be awarded the WFA Black Grade and 4th-6th will be awarded WFA Purple Grade Beaumont shakers. In addition to the big competition there will also be prizes for the ‘Best Cocktail’ (£200) and ‘Best Female’ (£250).
Overall the Cambridge Cocktail Weekend was a grand success. We are already looking forward to the next one!
