Infusion Inspiration: Level Up Your Spirits

Want to add a signature twist that’ll have your customers talking? Infusing spirits is your secret weapon. It’s a surprisingly simple technique that unlocks a universe of flavour, allowing you to craft unique cocktails that scream your bar.

Infusion is all about time and simple ingredients. You combine your chosen spirit with flavourings like fruits, herbs, or spices in an airtight container and let the magic happen. The spirit gently extracts the essence of your additions over days or weeks. The key is to taste regularly to achieve your desired flavour intensity.

Seasonal Inspiration

Think about the produce available throughout different seasons. Rotating your infusions throughout the year keeps customers engaged and excited to visit your bar.

  • Spring (Early Fruits & Botanicals): Rhubarb & Ginger Gin for a tart and spicy Collins. Elderflower Vodka for a delicate springtime Martini.
  • Summer (Berries & Herbs): Strawberry & Basil Vodka for a vibrant twist. Raspberry & Mint Gin for a refreshing summer cup.
  • Autumn (Fruits & Spices): Plum & Cinnamon Rum for a warming autumnal vibe. Apple & Rosemary Gin for a crisp seasonal serve.
  • Winter (Citrus & Spice): Orange & Star Anise Whisky for a festive Old Fashioned variation. Lemon & Ginger Vodka for a zesty pick-me-up.

Here are a couple of our favourite cocktails where the unique character of the infused spirit truly shines through:

Plum & Cinnamon Old Fashioned (featuring Plum & Cinnamon Rum):

    • 60ml Plum & Cinnamon infused Rum
    • 5ml Maple Syrup (adjust to sweetness)
    • 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
    • Method: Stir all ingredients over ice in an old-fashioned glass until well-chilled. Strain over a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange twist.

Mexican Elbow Lemon & Lime Squeezer

Rhubarb & Ginger Collins (featuring Rhubarb & Ginger Gin):

    • 50ml Rhubarb & Ginger infused Gin
    • 25ml Fresh Lemon Juice
    • 15ml Simple Syrup (adjust to tartness)
    • Top with Soda Water
    • Method: Combine the infused gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled highball glass filled with ice. Top with soda water. Garnish with a thin slice of rhubarb and a candied ginger piece.

Embrace the simple art of traditional infusion and offer your customers cocktails with a truly distinctive character!
