Gin’s Still Winning: Refreshing Twists for the Summer Season

Gin’s not going anywhere. It’s a true staple. Its versatility and those wonderful botanicals keep it a firm favourite year after year. In these warmer months, we look to gin as the foundation of light, bright, and utterly refreshing cocktails. Forget your standard G&T for a moment, it’s time to explore some innovative gin twists that capture the essence of summer.

Embracing the Season: Gin’s Summer Palette

Spring and summer in the UK offer a bounty of vibrant flavours that pair beautifully with gin’s botanical backbone:

  • Berries: Strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries bring a juicy sweetness and a beautiful blush to gin cocktails.
  • Herbs: Mint, basil, rosemary, and thyme add aromatic complexity and a fresh, garden-to-glass feel.
  • Citrus: Lemon, lime, and grapefruit are essential for a bright and zesty lift.
  • Florals: Elderflower and rosewater introduce delicate and fragrant notes, perfect for lighter serves.
